Las Vegas can viva without me. What a hellhole. Itapos;s the most insane place Iapos;ve ever been and I never want to be on the Strip again unless itapos;s for the thirty minutes it takes towalk from the curb to the hotel room.
My entire body, mind, and soul hurt from being there for less than two full days. Visions of sick, pudgy people sitting wasted at slot machines for the duration of their uninspiredlives, ciggie in one hand and booze in the other will haunt me until my dying day.
I did enjoy our suite at the Venetian. Very fifties glam. I could definitely accomplish some good writing there, especially on my series inspired by Edward Hopper paintings.
I walked through all the Forum shops, the shops at the Palazzo and the Venetian and took in the sights at the Bellagio. Most of the stores were having "buy $200 worth, get $100 off" specials, desperate in this economy. They were largely empty.
We ate at Bouchon for dinner and I had a chocolate souffle and a scotch at Morels in the Palazzo while Superdate was at the office. The food is great in Vegas, but itapos;s in Vegas, which makes it less appealing than grabbing a burger down at the local In -n Out. Mmm. Burgers.
Iapos;m relieved to be back home in San Diego.
